saw my first 56 chevy at 7 and it was love at first sight. Built model cars until I could purchase the real thing. My first car was a 60 Impala Sport Coupe with a 348 and 3 deuces, three speed on the column. I loved that car but didn't realize how fortunate I was to have it, especially at the grand cost of $650. I sold the car to go into the service (Vietnam era). My buddy totaled it and was killed in the process. After the service got married, raised a family and bought typical family cars. Now I'm retired and collecting the old cars of my dreams (most aren't running and could possibly pass for junk but at least I've got them to play with).
