My Grandfather (Wes) bought the 53 in 58, when he purchased some property for business, and the truck was part of the deal. The Truck was then used mostly as family pickup, camping and dump runs. A few years later Wes started a dental equipment sales and service business. That is when the lift gate was put on, and some extra coils w/ bags on the rear. My Father(Russ) who was also in the dental repair field, met Wes, was introduced to my mom, that is where I come into play. Anyway my pops started working for Wes and took over the business. I can remember helping my grandpa do dump runs, always amazed with the starter pedal and the shifting. My dad and I would load dental chairs in the back and deliver them to offices. The truck goes no where fast, but it gets there, and can haul quite a load. Just did my first solo dump run in it, and picked up metal for my business. Right back doing what its always done. The last few years I have known the truck would be mine. Lets just say after driving it and being on Hamb, I have become a little more in tune with what to do. I drove it for the first time August 2011. I feel so fortunate to have this truck, to drive, to work on , to make into the ride of my dreams. I feel such a strong connection to my Grandpa, and my Father. My mom reminds me of stories, and tells me ones I had never known. I know they are so proud that I got our old pickup motoring around town, and even more thrilled that I am doing a lot myself.
