my dad raced his 49 merc back in the late 50's. i have always been interested in rods and customs, got the 51 first after i had saved some $, took alot pics of junkyard where i found my car, saw tech article in Street Rodder on how Jimmy Shine chopped the top on his 34 and fell in love, went back to pics and found what was left of a chassis and cab of a 34 sitting in a riverbed, purchased it and started to collect parts. saw ads for wyotech, visited school but just too much $ plus have 3 young kids, married worried about income and insurance so decided not to go and met a couple of old school guys shortly after who are retired and have vast resources and materials/equipment whom were glad to help me with any questions or to lend me a hand.
