I guess coming from a blue collar family in San Diego in the fifties contributed to my fascination with cars. I guess you had to be there, but damn, playing in my dad's and uncle's jalopies (Balboa Statium), getting my first car (53 Chev) at 12 and tearing it down, street racing (shame!) in the sixties, 34 ford pickup at 19 ... my future was all planned out.
