My Dad bought a rusted '40 Chevy Master 85 business coupe in 1980 (I was 8 yrs old). He proceded to turn it into a LOW budget street machine using junkyard parts (used '66 283, 56 Chevy rear, etc). It was his first ever hot rod, so we learned together and made mistakes on the way. Spent many weekends as a child sanding that thing! We next did a '63 Impala, and I bought my Chevy II in 1986. Been in love with this hobby for 20+ years... I was probably the only 12 yr old in my school that knew the specs for a Chevy 409!
