I've been into classic cars since grammar school and have been around music of the golden era and 50's as a young lad. It wasn't until the middle of high school that I found my niche and decided it was time to express my inner fascination with those eras and display my tastes in art, cars and the likes. My first car, a 1955 Ford Customline, I purchased with the help of my father and spent time paying him back but also took advantage of school programs. Shortly after high school, I was able to get into the automotive field and I registered to an Auto Body class where I began to get a feel for the work. As my passion for cars from the best decades ever grew stronger I started to hone my skills and further my education on the history of the traditional kustom. Everything became a whole domino effect and one thing lead to another. I began to admire the fashion from the fifties (which later became 30's and 40's) and started watching more and more old films. From old car films to film noir, to silents, I became immeresed in this lifestyle that has molded my character of today. After working on the Ford for some time, and after shaving the rear molding holes and decklid, I came across a treasure. I found a 1950 Mercury at a reasonable price and sold the Ford to buy the Merc. Working on that and stripping it down left me without a car so again a loan was the key to getting a driver. I found a '57 Cadillac Sedan Deville, running and in decent shape. Finally having something to drive daily I continued working on the Merc on the side until all of that came to dead stop when my family and I encountered some life-changing and tough times. As unfortunate as they were they ultimately led to me having to part with my dream car at the time, losing the cadillac and leaving me with nothing but some parts here and there. In 2005 I found a '47 Plymouth Special Deluxe Coupe on sale, nearby. After going through the necessary resources I was able to aquire the car, minus engine and trans. The Plymouth had been an ongoing project, but once again, financing and life got in the way and I sold it to fund another project. This time a driver. A 1948 Plymouth coupe. I drove it daily 'till the economy crunch and work being slow forced me to part with her. I had aquired a '55 Plymouth engine to go with the '48 but never got to give her the new breath of life. I'm still working on the engine and, hopefully, will be done with it soon. I enjoy art and anything pre '59 but have now been into mostly cars pre '54.
