- 1929 Ford Tudor hotrod project, 1965 Chevy 10 stepside
My roots are on the farm and Dad's farm equipment business. I guess model cars kinda fueled the spark. I'm still working on the 65 Chevy pickup I bought when I was 19.
I've worked at a truck shop in North Little Rock since June 1988. Invited in to be the warehouse goober after being a special purpose vehicle mech in our Air Force. In 1989, the fledgling driveshaft business was offered to me as a new career prospect. I damn near fd up and looked at a trucking co. in Batesville AR as a forward move. Seven years later, with help from others and a learning curve, Superior Spring's driveshaft business is booming. Thirteen years in the shop building shafts, selling parts, under the cars, pickups, and bigger trucks doing repairs and needed modifications. Helps just a little bit with the current next seven years on the parts counter and fntelephone. Probably the best and hardest thing to deal with.
I've learned driveshaft angle corrections, suspension actions, chassis fab, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more in the past 20 years. Written two magazine articles and taught bus shop troubleshooting and maintenance level classes at the Arkansas School Bus Mechs Assn workshop for the past five years.
The inside of my house in adorned with model cars, posters, mags, car parts. NO MOTOR OIL STAINS. I'm eat up from the feet up. Don't know why, can't help it, in my blood.Interact
