I bought my 53 in 87 when I was in high school. I was the typical punk rock skater and had visions of building a clean little mild kustom. That was before everything was black primer with red wheels. I went to Paso for the first time in 1988, and knew that was my calling. At that time there wasn't much of the younger crowd in this hobby. I think I was one of about 10 primered cars at that show. (Anybody remember "The Lonely Kings"??) And as they say, it all went down-hill from there.. Now I am fortunate to have a better job, an understanding wife and can afford to continue the movement for the rest of my life...
