I've always wanted to build a hot rod or custom. I learned mechanics first hand chasing hand tools for my Dad. He worked on our numerous 49-51 Fords, 54-56 Buicks, my maternal grandpa's Ford 8N tractor, and paternal grandpa's John Deere.

Dad owned a 37 Chevy coupe with 3 speed on the floor, a stovebolt 6 cylinder engine, and split manifold while I was in high school. Before he bought it, the car was destined for racing on fairground dirt tracks. I cried the day he sold it.

I purchased a 68 Honda CB450 when I was 15, and paid cash for my 68 Harley XLCH when I was 16. I earned the money working in our local cotton mill.

I was an airdale in the Navy, working as a jet engine mechanic. Retired after my last tour of duty here in Anchorage and went to work for the state. I retire the 2nd time on 5/1/11.

My son is selling his 90 Bronco, 90% done. The 38 Buick is my dream car.
