Last car was a blown '33 Willys. Currently building a '39 Ford Deluxe coupe.
Like most, I built lots of model cars as a kid. When I was about 10 years old (1959) I became facinated with the hot rod being built 3 doors up from my house. My neighbor was probably about 16 at that time and he had a '39 Ford convertible with a small block, grey primer and a rumble seat. He was a great guy and always answered questions and gave me rides. I even got to help him press louvers in the hood in his backyard. The joy of those experiences never left. I sure wish I knew where he went as I'd love to shake his hand and thank him.
I got involved with drag racing by 1967 or so and met a fellow that also helped shape my love of cars. He had a blown '42 Willys gasser truck and I crewed for him. I remained with him through a '33 Willys gasser and a fuel altered. Myself and another guy then split off to race a Front Motor Top Fuel car. Then a Corvette funny car.
During this period I had '55-57 Chevys, Chevelles and various other cars.
I always wanted to build a blown '33 Willys and finally by 1990, I had the dough to do it. Took longer than I thought but when it was done it was a real ball. Black primer, blown small-block, right attitude. By 2002 I finally sold it to an old friend. It has a good home.

As I mentioned above, I restore '40's Wurlitzer jukeboxes for a living. I did one for member ScarryLarry some time back. If I can help anyone find parts or info, I'd be happy to try to help.
I decided after lurking for some time and because Glenn (ahotrod) said he'd kick my ass if I didn't join, I am now signing up. Looking forward to trying to assist and I know I'll have questions. The inspiration I get from the HAMB is amazing. Mike Hanlon
