Born Youngstown Ohio 1945. Went to Quaker City Timing Assn during high school. Graduated Urusline HS 1963 enlisted USN. San Diego Calif 64 - 66. Carlsbad Drag Strip every week. Got hooked on the combination of nitro, rubber and clutch smoke. WOW was it neat.
Returned to Y Town 1966. Brought 55 Chevy home from Calif and built into a C/MP not much luck.
Got job with Kerrs Speed Shop in 68 and moved to Cincinnati to open new store in fall of 68. Met a guy who just bought a B/D who needed and engine. Partnered up for a season and lost my engine in a bad deal with car owner. Got his old 327. (bird in the hand beats 2 in the bush). Bought a 63 split window corvette and put the 327 in it. Moved to Dayton to open another new store in Jan 70. Raced the corvette in C/MP at Pences drag strip and Kil Kare for the year 1970. Vette was very fast. Beat the Rod Shop C/MP 63 vette once. Lots more too. Sold the vette and started messing around with an old B/ED with a partner. We had a blast at Pences, Kil Kare and Muncie. Moved to Miami in 74 and raised a family. Now nearing retirement for good and have a 70 camaro to play with now.
