Our '53 has been in the family since 1955. Was my Great Aunt's, then my Grandparent's, then my parents' and someday mine (I have three sisters ;) ). She only has 70,110 miles on her and hasn't been licensed since the mid to late 70's and hasn't been driven since even before that...so...it's time to get it back on the road so my parents can enjoy it. We're rebuilding the 239 flathead, the Fordomatic trans, new brakes all around, converting to 12 volt, electronic ignition, all new lines, brake and fuel, all bearings, seals, and anything else that needs to be freshened up. I'm doing all the work as dad can't really climb under the thing and "wrench" much anymore, but he needs to be behind the wheel of her, there's no doubt about that. It's been in the shed for WAY too long...so here we go!!!

I've always been into cars and rods...Got started on muscle cars, ever since I was a kid. Love 'em to this day. I think it all started with the Dukes of Hazzard...so then of course I started riding my BigWheel on two wheels (like the Duke Boys drove The General) instead of the three that I was supposed to, giving my mom heart failure and giving my dad some laughs. ...me and cars, plus a lot of dad's helpful advise through the years, were a perfect fit.

I love to tinker, started when I was about 7, with a bike...I was always tearing things apart to see how they worked (and always trying to make them smoother and faster) and have always loved the satisfaction of a job well done...that I did myself or with some buddies. Plus, I've got way more time and energy than I do money. ;)

...And now to date, that the tinkering has turned into full blown rebuilds and restorations...cars, motorcycles, even my racing lawnmower...

Nothin' wrong with knowing your way around a set of tools...and I plan on passing all this on to our two sons, as my dad passed it on to me.

So 9 years later, she's done and I got it back to my folks last summer... 2016... they love, take it to car shows together all summer long.
    That's what it's all about.
