Me too! Great design without complex curves. It would make a great trike also.

 

Slight correction if I may to this extra info and some more from one of the best sources about 3 wheel Morgans, Alderson and Rushton's excellent book Morgan Sweeps the Board (second hand and new copies still available on Bookfinder etc. Although not cheap, its a well researched and well illustrated book that's hard to beat on the three wheeled Morgan).

Harold Breats was better known as Harold Beart and the chassis as Banjeaux Bob relates was completely non-standard, with heavier lugs cast specially for the car to accommodate heavier frame tubes etc, and the full description is given on pages 83 and 84 of this book, too much to quote here. Beart was a long time successful private entrant of Morgans both in trials and racing. This Morgan special had an unusual streamlined alloy body with the engine under a cowling with bulges to clear the barrels.

Although successful in this form at Brooklands, I think this may well be the car that was later given a rear axle and converted to four wheels and subsequently known as Salome. Perhaps others can confirm this. Salome still competes in sprints and hillclimbs, so there is life in the old girl yet..

Sorry to be a spoiler again, but I think these Getty images above show pedalcars not powered cyclecars, sometimes referred to as velocars. Thery were popular in flat places like the Netherlands but they would be useless in most of Scotland!

There is a very fine modern equivalent called a Twike which is made in Switzerland and is not cheap and even less cheap when you buy the electrically assisted version. Check them out on Twike.com... Neat eh?

How about the all wheel drive Skirrow Special,...(BSA) powered

 

Marty,we include them here as well as engine powered vehicles.All corrections are more than welcome.

 

There were some Skirrows powered by JAP engines.

Ivan Dutton who ran Ivan dutton bugatti , is restoring a Skirrow , his had a v twin Jap and four wheel drive , he is currently looking for some parts and an engine , it will be a lot of fun when it's done

 

There was a Skirrow sold from here in the states not long ago.

A bit off topic but this is a really great video on supercharged Grand Prix cars from the '20's and '30's with good commentary on vintage film and contemporary footage. It's about 50 min. long but worth watching if you like this subject.
