What to do with this? I have a 22 Maxwell Coupe (or some of it) Bought at a farm auction in central Kansas. I think its a 22 since engine has 1922 cast in on it. I googled for pictures, and I believe its a 22 Maxwell Coupe. I have the doors and quarter windows and its definitely no Roadster. Frame looks restored many years ago, engine has no crankshaft or pistons. Rear body not too bad, but has had patches in lower sides. No steering column or seats. I may have some of the other parts, but wood is poor. I bought it for cheap. Any ideas?
Looks like it was a great looking car! With what you've got, maybe some kind of late '20s, '30s "gow job" coupe-ster with an independent manufacturer (Packard, Hudson...) straight eight?
Well, since we've now seen photos of it I would say build a hot rod coupster out of it. Not enough there for a restorer to be interested in it but you have enough to hot rod.
I wouldn't assume no restorer wants it without waving it around for them to see first. Otherwise, it's Jack Benny's car. Would make a unique rod however you built it.
sorry, I posted second thread because I couldnt figure out to add pictures. almost computer illiterate
A man here in Casco, Maine has two 1920's Maxwell Hot Rods....I will see if I can get some photos sometime soon.
Now that would be interesting. Would like to see any photos you can get. Never would have thought that a car that rare would have been rodded.
