Tom Ingram presents the 2013 Viva Las Vegas Car Show, and it is shaping up to be the biggest yet! The dates are March 28-31.

    Performing at the Car Show:

LITTLE RICHARD ~ King of Rock & Roll.

DICK DALE ~ King of Surf Guitar !

VICKY TAFOYA & THE BIGBEAT ~ Jumping Rhythm & Blues.

THE ROCKATS ~ 80's Rockabilly from England.

    DJ Del Villareal.

After giving it much thought the car show will now be FREE to Car & Driver's . You have read this right, FREE ! You must still pre register and submit a photo of vehicle for approval.

There will also be a HUGE 60's Gasser display, an authentic Custom display (indoor car show-outside) , vendors, special guests, and more.

Also booked for the weekend are:

SI CRANSTOUN - In the flavor of Jackie Wilson, He is back by popular demand. Never in VLV history has an artist/band been asked to return the following year. He made such an impact that everyone wants to see him again!

    GENE VINCENTS original Blue Caps.

    The CLEFTONES

    SID & BILLY KING.

Many more Artists, Bands, DJ's to be booked in the following months.

Rooms at the Orleans are totally booked but the sister hotel Gold Coast has plenty left. We have reserved 100 rooms for all car clubs that are returning . Contact me for reservation/discount number. Don't forget , free shuttle bus rides to and from both hotels.

    Thanks

Holy Mack'l, Andy!!!!!.........you mean you're going to have the *Architect* of Rock and Roll!!! I have seen Richard Penniman many times and he is just as good as it gets!!

Man, I wish I could venture that far in my Fiddy One Fez Sled, but I am not that adventurous anymore.......a shame that I probably will miss the gigantic opportunity!!

Anybody within striking distance of Vegas better get to this one! You never know when you'll get a chance like this again!!

I need to think on this.....it's HUGE!!!...and Dick Dale, among others like the Original Blue Caps........Hmmmmmmmmmm! This bears looking into.....

    Great line-up!!

Axle didn't say "THE" king of rock'n'roll... Little Richard is without a doubt one of rock'n'roll kings, by that I mean one of the best selling artists of the decade along with Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and a few others.

    Wow, just…….Wow.
Both Little Richard and Dick Dale are undoubtedly royalty in their respective fields. I have had the privilege of seeing both live, and you need to grab life by the balls and witness the genius of these guys while you still have the chance, because time is moving on and nobody lives forever. In my tiny mind the likes of Little Richard and Dick Dale define the era this board is dedicated to almost as much as the cars, the traditional soundtrack to our traditional rods and customs.
Axle, you know what I'm not going to make it, but you also know I'm going to regret it. This is going to be killer!

    Hello Axle & Tom~
I remember when Las Vegas’ Historic “West Side” St. James Catholic Church
featured a special guest choir performance by a “bad mannered” gentleman
    Billed as Richard penniman.
This was during a period in the Early 1980’s
that he renounced the devil’s music
and returned to his preacher proclivities.
No one realized who this R. Penniman was,
& it was tough getting anyone to bring me to the Black Gospel show.
I also remember when Levi & the Rockats
Made a guest appearance on the Merv Griffin Show
    As proper teds.

    I was encouraged that others
were dressing in their parents old clothes and playing their old records.
My teenage summer jobs in Las Vegas, NV & Glendora, CA
    Were swim instructor/lifeguard
At the Sands Hotel & summer camps.
    VLV 2013
    Really means to me

Paul hit the nail on the head, my sentiments on all points.
I'd also really dig catching the Bluecaps, Cliff Gallup is a genius.
I've both played and partied with the Rockats in Japan (Smutty is mental:D). IMO they rank among the best of 80's "Neo Rockabilly", with or without Levi.
As for the new "car show will now be FREE to Car & Driver's" policy, good move Axle!

What I posted is an in-joke between Alex, his darling wife Celeste & me & my wife....

Little Richard took the rule book of music and shredded it to bits, he's one of the major reasons I still enjoy driving too fast and raising hell, and I don't even have a stereo in my car.

  22. Little Richard huh.....That should be great!!!
