This is the Batavia Preserving Company in Middleport. It was on the North side of the canal right near where North Hartland and Mill Street connect. It was built in 1883 and operated under the name of Ontario Preserving Co. In 1891 the Batavia Preserving Co. was organized. Around 1913 the business was purchased by Bewley Bros. In 1946 Monmouth Packing Company
of Asbury, N. J. bought the plant. I believe it was torn down in the late 1960's.

Slick looking bus on the left. It almost looks chopped compared to the newer one.

Side view of the red bus along with it's little bro,

  14. I have all five and my son read all five also. I read them when I was a kid about 11-12 and then so did my son. They were selling them in a collection a few years back. I believe every rooder/customizer that was sparked by Felsen should raise their kid on him also. Start that fire early.

That set they were selling, now goes for some serious cash.

    They are highly prized.

Glad I got one when they were cheap.

Read Felson in Hardcover back in school days...........

Christmas 1964 before we kids got to it:

1966 and my younger brother, almost 3 (I still have that Coca-Cola truck!):

Followed by the blizzard of 1967 (and our '56 Chevy 210; it had rust holes I could put my fist through):

Other side of our house, and our neighbors' '65 Ford Custom:

Now some slides I got from an estate auction; the guy's name was Otto Sauseng, a German immigrant. His neighbor had a '51 Caddy:

    He carefully studied American culture:

Which worked out as he got married and had a nice Christmas.

They took their '56 Olds on a trip to Aspen:

And rang in the New Year (1968) in Palm Springs:

  25. I think you might be right about the logo, but I KNOW I saw some double d's somewhere on that page.
