Got 28x12.50-15 Mickey Thompson ET Street biasply street slicks on my 61. Just takes the stones to make that first cut....Or a tall ladderbar set up.
the smallest one they make... http://www.hurstracingtires.com/1093440.html <table border="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td align="left" valign="top">Hurst "Casler" 26.5"x7"x14" Pie Crust also available in " 27.25"x7"x14" Pie Crust </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"> Retail $400.00 pair</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"> This tire is available in 14" rim size only. 26.5"x7"x14" Capped on "NEW" 205/75/14 Radial Casing. 27.25"x7"x14" capped on 215/75/14. Radir makes a shorter cheater for Falcons and Chevy II's. It is a killer looking tire, and it's a new tire, so there's no fear of it coming apart. My buddy has a pair on his Falcon and they look great. I'm saving for a set for my Falcon as well.
I'm running the Radir 7.75 x 14 on my '65: I'm not sure how similar in size the wheel well on the '63 is to the '64/'65 Falcon/Comet but it should give you an idea.
The '60-'63 Falcons and Rancheros have smaller wheel wells than the '64-'65 Falcons do. I stretched the wheel well opening 3" to the front on my '63 Ranchero, and was able to fit a 215-65-15 tire on a 7" wide wheel with 4" backspacing:
Muttley, those pics say it all....that Comet is just awesome. Those are the ones I was talking about, and they ride and hook pretty good, too.
Yeah, the idea to take some shots there just popped into my head the other day, they came out pretty good. Thanks again for the wheels, they are a perfect fit. Thanks, it's getting there.
