I am looking to change brands. I have always used 3M and I know that there have been some technological advances in fillers in the production shop lines.

So what are you swearing by now?

Don't have alot of experience with it yet but rage extreme seems to be real easy to apply and sand.

  4. Rage, I used it on the T just getting back into paint and body work after a long hiatus. Really liked how it worked. Have a few smaller projects under my belt since then. Double bonus that my parts store now carries it so I can get it on Sunday even!

make sure whatever brand you use, is stain free so it doesn't bleed thru your primer and paint. i always used rage until i was turned on to usc fuzion brand, it' s just as good for 1/2 the price. my guys love it, hardly any pin holes and does'nt stain. i've haven't had a problem with it at all in the last 6 months of using it. my 0.02

It's not the body filler that blends It's the hardner in it that makes it blend

I put Rage against the machine. All my cars are filled with Rage. I like the regular stuff, not the Xtreem or whatever they call it. The fancy-pants shit seems to pinhole more, even though that's what it's designed not to do.

It's the amount of hardener you put in that makes it "stain" or bleed...it's NOT the bondo...mix it correctly and you won't have any problems with bleeding or staining...DO NOT mix way too much hardener to hurry it...

    I use Rage Gold...

  17. I like Rage Xtreme. It sands really good. It's more expensive than regular Rage. That's if I have my choice. Rage is good too.

I think the USC Kromate Light is hard to beat. Way less $$, almost never pinholes, never bleeds, sands easy, overall superior to Rage. It seems that this Rage line is indeed the latest "rage" in fillers but I don't see it. I have a 3gal tub here and it makes me miss my Kromate Light. It could be that I use very little filler in the work we do here, and my impression of Rage is that it's better for thicker builds.

rage is nice, but it costs too much. I use dp170 from PPG. works great, costs less.

Rage Gold here... I used Rage Extreme for a couple of years, but i have since went back to Rage Gold. It has a nice big "window" of time to work it before it fully hardens. Take some 36 grit on a long board and sand most of the excess off.. Works slick, especially on large jobs.

Then I use a "poly putty" over top. Work it with 80, spray with guide coat, and finish it out with 180.
