I've seen a few charts showing how much most 'modern' OHV automotive mills weigh...but does anyone have any idea as to what a typical early or late Ford flathead V8 weighs complete???

They seem like they might be quite hefty...but are they really???

You can subtract a couple of pounds if it's a CANADIAN flathead; with aluminum heads, aluminum cam gear cover and an aluminum intake. (the stock ones)

Thanks guys...I was kinda curious to see how they compared to a small block Ford in weight...looks like they fall closer to SBC heft!!

I think they were heavy enough to use all of these in anchoring the Titanic before its maiden voyage.
Thats how the practice of the Naval Flotation Test #1A00023 began.
All the stock 8BA Distributors floated to the top and they had to remove them to get it to sink.

    NICE HAT!

    Well that was original.

The Titanic sunk in 1912. Rent the movie again and stop staring at Leonardo DeCrapio so much.....
