what carbs are these?

On A32Flathead's website there's a pic of a carb setup on a W motor. I haven't figgered it out yet. Anyone know what it is? I'll try to post it here, but I think the pic is too big and i have no way here at work to reduce it.

All 8 of them are Webers.
The down drafts are IDA's ( like they used on Cobra's and VW's, etc. )
The side drafts are DCOE's ( like they used on Alfa Romeo's, MG's, etc...)
Interesting setup.
Looks like it has about twice the carbs it needs...

Metal shapes is right about the carbs, and the fact that its probably overkill.
I've seen the setup more than once, not just on the W motor.
I don't know who sells it.
Set up right on the right mill it could be jam up. But on most of what you see it on its probably just for looks.
Does look cool though.

That's an insane amount of money in those carbs there. I looked for some of the downdrafts briefly and found they were around $500 each.

How many CFM's per carb for each kind?

If you can find a matching set of 48IDA Webers for $2000, You'd better snap them up...
Thats a steal. Even for used ones.

Atch, I'm guessing that the CFM for one set ( 4 ) 48's is somewhere in the 1200 to 1800 CFM range...
But it works different than a 4Barrel.
With one throat per port the carb reads the pressure pulses intead of just the flow.

I figured they were some kind of Webers when I first saw them. I also knew that they're not something I could ever afford but I like the opportunity to get a little more education.

New IDA's are going for $1200 a pair. Weber stopped making them for a while, so the price shot up, but it's comming back down since they restarted production, especially on the used ones.

The nice thing about Weber's is that they have removable venturi's. You can change the CFM rating of the carb just by putting bigger or smaller ones in. That's why they work on 1600 VW's, and 427 Cobra's. The 48 IDA is possibly the most tunable carb on the planet.

DCOE's and IDF's are a lot cheaper than IDA's, and Dellorto's are a little cheaper than those.
A set of used 40 side drafts is probably not out of your reach, specially if you make your own intake...

There was a nice article in the Jan. Drive magazine. It said four 48 IDA downdrafts serving as primaries & four 45 DCOEs serving as the secondaries. The 29 is a 2 time Billetproof best of show & also said the owner works here:
