Anybody know of any websites that guide you through
upholstery(SP) stuff?

How to make the designs for the seat,
so it'll fit correctly..?

And where can I score that PIPING,
For the edges of the seat, etc.

Personally, I'm getting a bit tired of the MEXICAN BLANKET look...
Anybody else?

And how much will a HARDCORE sewing machine run me...
Or can I use a normal one??

I know there have been posts on this stuff before, but well, I didn't save any!
Thanks!

I don't know of any websites, but a year or two ago I checked out like 3 books on the subject from the local library. They were big, thick, and verrrry informative (although I couldn't really do anything with the knowledge at the time).

As for sewing machines capable of stitching vinyl and heavy cloth, they're pretty expensive, like a couple hundred at least.

hardcore sewing machines aren't THAT expensive second-hand... but they're worth the dollars if you want anything other more that a satisfactory job, and a necessity if you want vinyl to work out...

try this thread (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=152772&Forum=U BB1&Words=skipstitch&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchp age=0&Limit=25&Old=1week&Main=152684&Search=true#P ost152772) for some recent discussion on the subject...

check out Autocraft, they supply JCWhitney for all seat stuff they also have vynyl by the yard it might be cheaper to buy ready made than start from scratch depending on your skill, cost of sewing machine and cost of material, plus the time needed to do the job right now the site is under construction at www.customseatcovers.com (http://www.customseatcovers.com) (for future referense) they will send you samples of material and are reasonably priced especially compared to "customm" shops good luck
