How do!
Well, basically I am hoping to find some folks wanting to get involved in a shared garage space, or else willing to rent a garage space, an old barn, etc. I currently don't have any big build projects going on. I live in an apartment with my family in Northwest Arkansas, so space and budget are limited.
I work in a Mack Truck dealership, and am currently enrolled in the automotive service technology program at a local vocational college. I just sort of felt silly that I could service and repair h.d engines and powertrains, but didn't know how to set the gap on a spark plug!
Anyway, an older guy I work with who has an incredible collection of old cars, trucks, and bikes (including 5 original Crowders) has offered me an original 38 Ford. I am real eager to get busy, but as mentioned earlier in this rant, I live in an apartment. Maybe after school is over, I can afford to buy a home, but in the mean time...
If anyone has any help or advice to offer, I would sure appreciate it. or, if you think I may be able to help you with a project, then let me know about that! I'm friendly as hell!

Been in your shoes before. I was living in an apartment and needed, LIVED FOR a HOTROD PROJECT! I had it bad. I joined a local car club and bought a nice little 52 chevy tudoor sedan. Cleaned it all up, swapped out the clanking tranny and lowered it down in the apartment parking lot. I thought I was gonna get me and my girlfriend thrown out and it was her apartment.
I swapped the chevy off for a 56 Pontiac with no engine, radiator or front seat. I had it towed to the local community college and took a "lab" that happened every Saturday morning for 5 hours. The college allowed us to use their shop and tools and sold us their bodyshop supplies on site. It was great. I was able to store the car there all winter. I bought a parts-car for the missing parts and fixed the rust right there. I was able to drive the car home after 2, 10 week sessions. It was totally street legal with plates, exhaust and everything. I did the little piddly stuff like cutting the coils and installing lowering blocks in the apartment parking lot.
The car paid the closing costs on our new house a few months later. I hated to see it go but now I have a [1 car] garage to build stuff in...
If there's a will, there's a way. Hope you find someone to go in with ya on a garage. Our fearless leader and owner of this message board has this 38 ford.
