is there any 8 or 9 inch ford rear ends that will bolt in this car? if not what others fit good? a good friends is blown up and I'd really like to fix it for him.

How wide is the Lincoln - wheel flange to wheel flange?

I thought I'd ask here before I did anything to the car to see if anybody had it figured out or done one recently.

If the wheel bolt pattern is the 5 on 5 1/2, which i think it is, then there is lots of ford 9" pickup rears that would probally fit, as they made them in a number of widths.

I'm not really too concerned with the bolt pattern I was just looking for something that might bolt without alot of modifications. does anybody know if they have the same rear end as a 49-51 mercury? if so there should be plenty of info out there.

I don't know for sure, but I had always heard that the Maverick 8-inch was the hot set-up for the shoebox Fords. Is the Lincoln similar to the Fords? If so, measure your Lincoln rear width and leaf pads dimensions, then go searching for a Maverick and compare. Or just get the dimensions and go searching for any rearend that meets the dimensions you need.

Put a Granada rear in my 49 Merc, its 2 inches too narrow. Width is critical if yer runnin skirts......OLDBEET
