The wayfarer has a 9" rearend on the rebuilt stock leaf springs that have been dearched. When going around corners, the inside tire will rub because of the weight shifting. I've already got a rear sway bar that I need to install to solve that problem, but I need to get the rear set up right before I do it.
When there are people in the back seat, It causes the rear to ride a little too low, so I need to solve the problem of holding added weight, without jacking up the rear. I've looked into Air Ride Technologies' air over leaf set up and I know it would solve that problem, but I'd like to do something that may aid traction too. Because the thing's powered by a built 440, it makes a ton of torque and the car has trouble hooking up. Wheel hop and all that.
My question is, does anyone have any suggestions as to solving all of these problems with one setup? I thought maybe having the air bags in front of the rear would prevent the leaves from winding up, but I'm not sure. Got any suggestions?
I know putting in a four bar would work, but I'd like to not have to do that right now.

Stick an extra leaf in your springs. It'll stiffen them up, stop the sag, stop you winding up your springs so much too. Make sure it is curved just right to keep your ride height as it is.
Or, you could add some cheap traction bars, if you have room. That'd stop you winding up the axle, but would still leave you with sagging rear end under load. Same with air bags, you still got a winding axle.
I'd go with the extra leaf.
