Hi, chrisman here, haven't been around much here lately, sorry 'bout that. So let's start fresh with a re-intro and I'll make sure to be a more active hamber this time.

I live in Gothenburg, Sweden and have been into cars for the past 25 years. My last project is/was a model A roadster which was put into hibernation due to career choices and space limitations fifteen years ago. It's still standing quarter-finished in my in-laws barn 300 miles away.

Ok, so now I'm working as a freelance photographer and is fairly well established in my area. Building a career takes a lot of time and energy, so I've had way too little time left for cars.

However, it's hard to not follow one's true nature so I'm trying to get on track again. I found a garage to rent, and is primarily looking for a '40 Ford two-door sedan, or something similar to work on. I hope to find one before spring.

Yeah, forgot the stupid question:

I know it's like asking how long a string is, but how much can a '40 Ford sedan cost in the U.S.? I'm looking for a driver, with a fairly good and sound body. Paint and interior is unimportant, and minor rust is no problem. Naturally it depends on what's done with it, and what's not but maybe someone got examples to tell.

I've followed sales on eBay, and I've noticed that quite a few sellers wants at least ten grand, but most gets unsold. Is that too much, generally speaking?

Check out the prices in various cities and states on the following page. It is a pretty good site, and will give you a good idea of what you should expect to spend and there is usually a picture, so you might have a vague idea of the condition.

Good Luck.
