Hey, so whos gonna be there, and whos gonna be showin off their cars??
Since I dont have a real car to show, I'll be entering 9 model cars/trucks for the model contest, including my recently finished Terrible Grape (unfinished pic below)
I was thinking of placing the T on top of the HAMB calender, what do you guys think?
Hey Danny, are you and the Tie-Rods going to be showing your cars at this one, or is it the Portland Roadster Show you guys show in? both?
Scott, are you gonna make it down?
Should be a good show, its at the Portland Expo Center Feb 13-14-15.
Then the 34th annual Portland Roadster Show is at the Convention Center on March 5-6-7, hope to see a few of you there! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Rob,I'm not sure if we're going yet. I usually skip this one in favor of the roadster show, but you never know, I might hit 'em both this year...

This is the Dan Cyrs fuck over Portland Show. Save your money for the real show in two weeks its worth the wait. If you have to go. take your time and walk the whole place twice and it still cost 20 bucks an hour http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Jim, I echo your statements, but I didn't want to get into it here, man does that show have a lot of "baggage"......I know a few people that are involved with the show, as well as some who work the Roadster show. Man could I tell some stories........but i won't.....

Hey guys, Ive never gone to this one either, Ive always gone to the roadster show, but i figured the more model contests the more fun.
I just went there today to submit my models and they wouldnt take models today. I have to wait till tomorrow after 12 to put them in, and I wont get there till after 5. And by the way, I saw the whole show today for free. Only one room was used and not that many outstanding cars. Walked it twice and then some, and left.
My biggest thing is just letting people look over my stuff, I could care less if I won an award, and it blows that I have to wait till the first day of it is half over.
Plus they didnt even know where it would be, and I have to pay just to go put my models in the show, and no free pass.
and to top it all off, they wont be having big plastic bubble covers to go over the models, like in the other shows. So some clumbsy guy could knock my shit off, or a little kid reaches up and breaks em, or worse case they get stolen.
And not that my models are immaculate, but some of them are rare and cant be found, some were bought in France.
The convention center not only lets you in for free to submit models, they give you a free pass to come back for the award ceremony. So I wont be going back after all.
Talk with you guys a bit later http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Rob, sorry to hear they treated you like a bitch, but I can't say I'm too surprised. If you're gonna blow off the show, cruise out this way, I'll buy you a beer or two.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

So what the deal w/ The Rod & Custom Show promoter? I heard from some of the guys on this side of the river that the guy that runs the Portland Roadster Show was a tool. Please enlighten me all knowing ones.
I really like going to the Expo Center better than the Convention Center. I'm sure parking will be real fun now at the convention center after they expanded the place and removed a bunch of parking. Either way I plan on going to both, it sure beats working on the wife's "honey do" list!

I've aired my opinion of Dan Cyr and his operation and have no reason to beat a dead horse, Dan wrote me a letter to straighten me out on some points and the letter was more info than I had before. E-mail me if you would like rest of the story from the horse's mouth or ass as it seem to be. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
