Here's a few more shots from the project... These are from 2 weeks ago... Got the developed pics today...
And yes, before someone starts complaining http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif.. We have to cut down the springs to get the bottom tubes of the frame level with the ground... It's stance looks shitty like this, but were gonna wait till everything's together, and see what the weight of the motor will do.
BTW... Can't wait to get my Goodson magneto cover! They're probably being cast right now!
Gregg, the red plugwires are gonna look bitchin' on the motor! It'll also get red fuel line.
Bearings for the tranny are coming in tomorrow, so we'll put the motor all together next week or so!

That bike rocks. I've enjoyed following this build up. Anyway, here's my 2 cents. I don't like the mounting angle of the gas tank. Can you adjust it so either the top or bottom of the tank runs parallel to the frame? As it is, it lacks continuity to my eye. Then again, you're building a custom bike from the ground up and I own a mostly stock H-D, so you can tell me to shut the hell up if you want http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Loookeeng goo'it!
When you get the front dropped down it'll look mui-bitchen'.
And the tank, it'll either have to follow the back bone of the frame... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Or follow the bottom rails of the frame like Kman says. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
But I'd wait until you get the thing running then refine if needed.
How do you lower the front?
Sam!
p.s. thanks for the PM Dutchman, some day I'll post pics of my heap (it hit rock bottom last week, and can't come any further apart)

p.p.s. Wait 'till you see the oil tank I'm making... it has plenty of "Fake Hot Rod Influence", yet you'll be making that sound I make too. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Lowering the forks... I think we're just gonna cut the springs... 2 inches should do the job. I hope it'll not bottom out then, when hitting a big bump...
About the tank... Man... I don't know. I really like the old Triumph tanks too. Have you seen the pics on my website where we fitted the Ariel tank? Looks bitchin' too! We also have an old Sportster tank laying around with which we might do something...

Yea, I like the sportster tank on your bike for some reason.
At least it's something you can fart with later and change it to change the personality of the bike.
Sam!
If you have pinch bolts on the top triple clamp, just slide the tubes up to level the frame and you'll lose no fork performance. That would also give it a bit of vintage drag-bike look. Of course then you'd need flat bars or clip-ons to complete the style, and then it would be a bitch to ride. Forget what I said. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
It's looking great!

dutchman looks great everybodys got an idea of what would be their perfect bike but this ones yours, tank mounting position is personal preference. looks differnt to everyone. but i will say this bein a rigid bike rider ya wont enjoy riden that fender with the seat at that angle, i did the same thing cause it looks so good low, but after some miles tha ass bone will be hurtin. i madea seat pan that kicked up in the back, not alot but enough to keep me on the springs and not the fender. ya can still stay low, aandstay on the seat. looks good thbc Bones
man, i wish i could come up with an engine for mine. id use almost anything. nice looking bike, its keeping me motivated.

Hatch! thanks for photoshoppin' man! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Yeah, I can't push those fork legs up. They sit tapered in the upper fork clamps.
For the seat. I'll see what happens. We can always make changes. It'll be ridden in bare metal first, through the summer...
