Wow that's really cool. Are you sure it's a Ford? I don't recall seeing one like it before. I love the V8 logo!

I have a 39, 40 and I had a 47 all of them had some kind of door system. possibly 37-38?

Tommy..I just figured it was Ford. Did others use the V8 logo. Looks like it mounts to a flat firewall.

It does have a defrost tube coming off the back so that rules out the early years. I think it will be cool in that 32 coupe.

Cadillacs were V8? I don't know. By 1949 they had the controlls on the dash. The honeycomb core would make me think it's an early one.

That'd be nice in a 32 coupe! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm pretty sure it's not a Ford part. Ford used hot air heaters during the time that logo type was current, and I think I'm familiar with the '39 and up hot water heaters--all of them rather plain designs. I suspect that is either from a Caddy, roughly '36-7, or is aftermarket. Is that patch of color a decal? Are there any markings anywhere? If it's Cad, I think it would be from Harrison. It might also be an aftermarket piece taking some serious legal risks with that logo, which manages to infringe Ford and Cadillac simultaneously...
In any case, it's a neat enough piece to build a car around.

I would be surprised to find out it isn't a Ford heater.

Go about 1/3 of the way down the page...look at "grille badges of the late twenties and early thirties"...there's that logo, I think.

That color would look cool on your car...What happened to the rpu?

02-04-2004, 10:26 PM
The RPU might have a new home in Cali.

The decal on the top reads "EA labratories Home of Modern Products Made in USA" I guess it's some sorta aftermarket thing.

That makes me want to take some 1/4" rod and customize a bland heater.

Here's mine for the roadster. A little different after market type.
