FNG in TX

Hiya all, I was introduced to this site while down at the Star of Texas tattoo convention in Austin. So I figured I'd check it out, My names Matt and I'm slowly working on my 51 Chevy, as time money and the Army permit.
This seems like a really good place to get advice and I love what I've seen so far. I'll try not to break any rules, and maybe in time I can help someone else out with whatever theyre workin on, or vice versa. If anyone is in my area and wants to hang out or trade services, let me know, Im always willing to help out a fellow gearhead with grunt labor or loaner tools if I got em.
Oh yeah and I'm especially interested to know if anyone else is using a Buick,Olds, or Rover 215 as a powerplant for their ride, Theres alot of stuff I still dont know about it.

Welcome Matt, I own one of those 215 motors in my 62 F85. Mine is in need of a rebuild. There's a suprisingly large amount of stuff out there for them.They can be made to fit many combos, just kind of expensive for what you are getting.But hey it always costs more to be different.Good luck .

Its pretty much stock right now but as soon as I figure out how to I will post a few pictures, right now I'm concerning myself with the safety stuff before I do anything else(I.E. brakes, wiring, and fuel system) and unfortunately being in the Army I usually only have enough time to wrench on it about 1 day a week, I just put the new brake booster and dual reservoir on it, and that led to a new can of worms as the bracket for the brake booster, and master cylinder is forcing me to rethink my clutch linkage and parking brake arrangements. It never ends but I love it still.:rolleyes:

Oh yeah and Ive crafted a few widgets for my dash and worked out my guage arrangement, would anyone wanna know how to turn a 50's chevy clock bezel into a neat guage cup? I figured it out one weekend and now my tach is in there. Gonna use 2 more for temp and oil press..
