View Full Version : Wheel Vintiques
I'm looking at a set of Vintique's 20 series, solid wheels, with caps and rings, for sale at the other end of the country. As I can't get to view before I buy, I'd like to know if they are a good product. Any bad experiences with them, or good one's?

I just bought a set 20 series, solid wheels from Wheel Vintiques. I didn't see any flaws. Actually just scuffed and painted them today, seems like a nice wheel.

all right, add 1 to my Post count nationals total. At this rate, in about 20 years I may be up to 1000 ! roadstar, you look like you're sitting awfully low in your roadster, what gives ? I'm 6'3" and always looking for ways to improve headroom. Nice lookin' ride.

I made my own seat riser and seat. But I'm only 5'8.
You 6'3" guys have it bad with these small cars.

Hey Rudy, that must be an old pic, I know the last time I saw them, those wheels were red.
I've had an old pic of your car, and didn't realize it. I don't know where the pic is from, but it's from a while back.
Now back to your normal programing.

In their catalog they only have a couple of good wheels that are wide 5's. Just my two cents worth.

Since we're talking wheels here.
Someone give me your take on the differences between the gennie Ford spokes and the aftermarket.
Flt-Top Bob and I were discussing the use of a radial tire on a stock gennie wheel and we were under the impression that it wouldn't hold up. Is this true? Because with all the gold chainers jumping in on the traditional bandwagon...it's driving the prices sky high.
I know they make em in aftermarket but do they look right?

I was thinking on more along the lines of the wire spokes. But interesting, nonetheless.
1Low, that was a little out there.
Yeah Roadstar, exactly like those, (except they're not yellow and they don't have whitewalls and they're not on a roadster, but otherwise...)
Thanks guys for the responses. Good to hear.

Roothawg, I had some Wheel Vintiques wires on my '32, looked good. They are bent-spoke like Kelseys. You can run radials on the original rims, but you may need tubes, depending on the old rim's quality (no pits, good welds). If you come down to the RoundUp I can show you these wires.

Crazydaddy.....I will look you up if I come down.
We happen to be a Wheel Vintique Dealer. I have had nothing but success with them. Even when we had a small issue, they did their best.

There has been alot of talk/posts about the wheel co's lately, mainly bad! my virgin experience at Wheel Vintiques so far has been very positive, the true test will be once there mounted with rubber and balanced?
I checked with all the other's and almost went with Stockton Wheel,Man am I glad I didnt do that thanks to the HAMB posts! I did however have a bad experience with Wheelsmith on some tires and will not use or reccommend him. ... ever!
I ordered four 15X6 OE Style 64 Series Raw Steel wheels On July 5th.with a custom offset From Wheel Vintiques, the wheels were on the doorstep last wednesday.
I havent seen em there at the painters, but I cant wait to put the new db www's on and see how they ride.
... so Far I highly reccommend Wheel Vintiques!.....

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again. I got some of them wheels. They must have shipped them out the same day and they were nice. Painted them black right out of the box.

Glad you liked the tech article I wrote.
Don't see why the same info wouldn't apply to the wires. Technically, the tire will probably unseat itself from the rim (especially if there's no locking hump in the bead seat area) before the wheel fails. Have to make sure the stock wires have plates installed behind them for proper support on the later drums, which I'm sure you're already aware of.
PS: Thanks for the help with my WCFB problem. Have it handled.
I have a set of Wheel Vintiques 15x6 Chrome OE's on my Ranch Wagon, a set of 15x5 front and 15x6 rear Chrome Gennies on my Woody and a I just received a set of special ordered reversed chrome OE's for my '59 Biscayne. I am very happy with both their product and their service.

After my bad ordering experience with Stockton wheels, I cancelled them. I went with WV's and I'm just waiting for them. Tman, I tried to order them from you and you never replied to my PM, so I ordered them elsewhere :(
