Any Ideas on this car, it needs something to break it up. I havent seen alot of flames that go with red and black on a box. I am possibly getting this car tommorow. For the ranchero.

I saw a car this past weekend that was red with a deeper red set of red/maroon flames pinstriped in white and it looked nice.
I saw a 40 Ford in a magazine that was red and it had silver flames fading into charcoal, heavy on the metallic, and striped in white. It looked not too bad
That car looks bitchen just like it is!
It doesn't need flames,,,,yet.
I like Ed Roth style flames like on most of the Mc Mullen cars and do them after and to cover up road rash from driving it the way it is for a while.
That's what thet're for anyway. To cover up road rash without doing a complete!

I really like the way these flames use the body color in the design. Think they'd look great over red. The rest could be yellow to orange with blue tips.

Maybe I'm in the minority here [what else is new?] but I like flames on round cars and scallops on square cars. They don't get much squarer than a 52 ford.
Personally, I wouldn't do either on that car. A thorough lowering, cleaning, detailing and mega buffing with polished stainless and chrome would make that little vicky a jaw-dropper as is....
Let the lines speak for themselves.

Here's a dumb question, does the pinstripe on a basecoat flame job get striped before the clear? And does it get striped in a base paint? off topic but, doesnt hurt to ask.

PS..Cougdan, if that little flamed green 52 chevy coupe in the photo isn't an Omaha car, it's a dead ringer clone of one that usta be here. Hadda big block in it...mean!

The car has new chrome in the paper, grill, ends, bumpers etc. And the engine is a late 302 with a AOD not hooked up. As cool as it is its not my style. Maybee scallops, now im even more confused.

Well then, why not put it together, roll it outside, stand back and THEN make a decision about flames, scallops etc etc......Don't forget to lower it first and put your good wheels and tires on it before looking....it's a nice car.

I think Gold scallops would look great on that 52'vert. Slam it & add Astros & skinny whites, done.

Black thin scallops with white border pinstriping....not too much though...with the black top, it might get too busy.
