Any HAMBers out there like fast cars? I work at a shop called BADLS1 Racing and we are having our Grand Opening Sat., Feb.7 11am to 4pm. Now there's nothing, and I mean nuthin'!, traditional about this place but it's full of fast cars and gonna be full of Hooter's chicks, wings, the smell of race gas & burnin' rubber and of course, HAMBers. Come and check ou 'The World's Fastest LS1' along with a few Mopars (1 of 113 1969 HEMI Chargers is included in this collection), a 625 hp dailey driver Z-06, 800 hp daily driver Trans Am and several other fast-ass cars. Oh yeah, my crappy and slow Flattie T-Bucket will be there, too. We are minutes from I-75. Take I-75 to I-475 South to Clio RD. (it's the first exit) and turn right on Clio. One mile south and your there!! Further plans for afterwards are in the planning stage right now so stay tuned for more. PS Let's overrun the place with traditional cars. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Let it be known that there will be no horseplay in the place, since I have been given the task of being security. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif This should be a good time and this place is gonna be state of the art. From what I hear, there is gonna be Hooters girls there too http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. I plan to bring my Sedan there for the grand opening, that is if it ever stops snowing. Hope to see as many of you there as possible, I will get with Pete and try to get some kind of activities going on after the shop closes.

For those of you heading NORTH on 75 (like from D-Town), you'll want 475 North to Clio Rd Exit... it's about 10 miles from the south end of 475, then you'll want to turn LEFT onto Clio Rd (headed back south)

I'll try to have my not so traditional but TOTALLY Michigan Gay Chevy II there, if it's runnin and the weather's ok!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Here are a couple of pics I took at the shop today. Keep in mind that the shop looks a little bare in some of these shots, because they are still finishing things up. I was unable to get any shots from the work area because the floor had a fresh coat of paint on it.

Hey 35, I'll send ya pics and wings for hookin a HAMBer up! This place is friggin huge. With our newly aquired 'engine room', we are a full 43,000 sq. ft. Oh yeah, the boss saw Dirt T's trash talk. The convertible hasn't been sprayed yet so it can maybe get past that Honda. So far, Jdubbya and his ol man wilol have their cars there, my T-bucket will be there (sans windshield, damn it's too cold), HRTH's Chevy II, hopefully Kritz's Ford, Fuel Pump's '37 (?), ant more HAMBers gonna help teach Mr. Duke what cool really is? BTW thanks Jdubbya for posting the pics.

pete,
Hatch, Donzie, fab and I will be there but unfortunately without our cars. My 37 is burried in the back of a big pole barn (along with hatch's roadster) over by Midland. I wish I had it out to bring. Last year at this time I drove it in a 6" of snow. It was a blast. We are gonna meet at Frank's Hot Rod shop and then come down. Can't wait to see the place.

I took my sedan up to the shop today, along with the old mans 66 Buick, it may be in the 20's outside, but the streets are dry. They are putting the finishing touches on the place, and the shelves should be stocked by friday. From what I hear, a local shop will be bringing their funny car, and the place should be filled with cars on display. Flatheadpete had a setback in the "peter-beater" so it will not be in attendance, hopefully the problem will not be too major to fix. We will see you all there!

It was cool to see Donzie, Fab32, and Fuel Pump again.

I really like J.Dubs tudor, maybe he'd take a half dozen or so of my projects in trade!

That is one hell of a shop, and I think you'll get used to rolling in that hauler, that thing is finer than any hotel I've been in.
Wish I could have hung out longer than I did! Oh well, I got to spend the rest of the day working in my cold ass garage.

The intake for work deal is really cool! Free intake, $30.00 set of rochesters, $150.00 for the rebuilds, linkage yet to be determined... looks to me that the sedan will have a completely fresh tri-power set up for under $250.00. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I always just figured it was because all the suspension lube was stiffer in the cold weather.

On second thought, maybe it's because I have to drive slower in the summer because of all the out-of-towners clogging the roads.
