For what?
I don't think Ford used them.
Are you looking for "decorative tags"?

Dr.J

I need to put something on the car which has the VIN#. An aftermarket vin tag will work. Half of the vin #'s on the frame are rubbed out...the problem is...I already painted the frame and assembled the car.

Is that the way it's done in your state? Legally I mean?
Here, if the number's illegible they assign the car an official state ID number and rivit it to the frame and body.

In this state if you dont have everything perfect you F**CKED!

When I bought the car it had a title but the #'s were scuffed, I had planned on re-stamping them but forgot. Maybe I should just grind the paint and stamp them in???

Stamping them is a good idea. Any cop ought worth his salt ought to able to spot a bogus vin tag.
There's a Ford place in Sacramento that makes vin tags for 50s Fords (and no they didn't come that way). They sell 'em for show cars (the disclaimer).
PM me if you want the addy.

Many states allow it, mine included. There is nothing wrong with having one on your car in another state. The police cant say you didnt buy it from out of state with the tag on it!?
