hello all,I see from reading previous threads that an intro is a good idea.(I did one in the suggestions page first cos that was the only place it'd let me post)
I live in Perth western australia and own a 32 roadster of sorts, its actually a cut down sport coupe or cabriolet. The car was originally built in the mid 60's and won numerous trophys for a number of years before being bought by a local millionaires',Alan Bond who was behind the group who won the Americas Cup Yacht race in 84 with the 'winged keel' boat, son.He sold it to another guy in 90 who took it apart and did some very average quality upgrades and tried to modernise it.
About the car as it is now,its running a flattie with triple 97's and edelbrock head with a 4 speed manual box, dropped I beam/4 bar front and trailing arm rear with a 8 3/4 diff.Body is all steel, painted burgandy and is channelled 3" and fenderless.(it was channelled 8" but it was lifted back up..DOH)The interior is black vinyl doors and buckets(it was white tuck-n-roll,now gone..DOH again)Its running steelies and will have baby moons soon
I hope to return this car back to being a sport coupe if I can find doors,I think 5 window are similar???
To make this into a roadster they cut-n-shut the top of the doors just above the body accent line and fabricated windscreen posts to look like roadster posts.
I hope you guys will help with any questions I may ask.
thanks

Here is mine. I'm pretty sure the doors of the 5W are the same. Welcome and post some pictures of your hot rod.

hey Tommy, love the coupe and the roadster too!
those pics are very handy as there are no 32 sport coupes here in Perth to look at.All I need now are some doors.....
I'll post some pics as soon as I take some, should be all back together in a week or so,just getting some work done on the steering box etc

Welcome.

Looks like they really did a bodge job on those windscreen posts on ya. She'd look nice with some bias ply whites and steel cycle guards. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Some Harley indicators would look nicer than those big mother truck indicators too! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Looks like there's some BMC door hinges there, as well. Good to see someone returning an old winner to it's former glory. Good luck.

hey Peddro, you're not kidding with the windscreen posts, hopefully in the future I'll cut off the mickey mouse ears near the front of the doors and put a proper 32 screen on it.I will be getting some 15" steels with 5" bullet caps and wide whites soon. The front indicators will also go,with some smaller ones definately on the cards.I've got a carson roof just waiting to be trimmed and I'll also do some scallops as well, the list could go on...proper rear 4bar,pinstriping on the guards, wade supercharger etc etc

That car of your has a real ausssie 60's rod feel about it. Just return it to the era, and its done!!

Thought i'd show you my wade setup when it was on the 39 Chev that my good late friend Max made. Max gave it to me when he found to have a melonoma, that eventually took his life. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

sorry about your friend Max,skin cancer is a scary thing. That blower set up looks good, should look good on the flathead!
I'm hoping to try to use 3 94 holleys on top,I'm not going force it too hard, maybe 8%.Nobody over here in Perth has a blown flathead
