Have you thought about a swing pedal?
how about one stick in middle, push for gas and pull for brakes and call you rod the "backyard bandit" http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I think you'll do ok.
Unless you're doing a three pedal.
Here's a pic of my 32.
It's comfortable and easy to drive.
I'm a left foot braker, but other people drive the car and brake with their right foot so it works for everybody.
The shoe - a size 10 - is a little high on the throttle pedal. Your foot rests a little lower and about where the lighter colored carpet is on the right side of the shoe.
I thought I was in Fat City before the car was upholstered.
Once the kick panel was in I realized I'd been putting my foot over against the inside of the body.
That could be something you could do if you needed every last inch for foot room. simply glue carpet or whatever directly to the body interior and retain some foot room to the side.

pfffft!!! Buy smaller shoes...duh http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Sorry couldn't resist... But like C9 said carpet on the kick panel hugged up to the side of the car would help. To solve a similar problem in my modified, I'm gonna skin the kick panels with sheet metal to match the contour of the cowl and paint 'em...

Ok Im a little befuddled here. I see alot of unchanneld cars with big trans humps. My coupe is channeld 5 1/2" and besides the hump for the bell housing my floor is flat. what the hell did I do right for once?

greezy, just means your engine and trans sit low in the chassis, how far below the bottom of the rails is your trans pan or bellhousing?mine are level with it.

Actually, that's pretty good advice.
Granted, I'm stuck with a size 10, but it helps to wear not-so-wide tennies, preferably (for me) mostly cloth and a flexi sold.
An old pair of Coverse high-tops are about the best thing going for long trips.
I can't hardly drive the car with the stiff soled athletic shoes that usually have an overly wide sole.
Part of that is due to a not so good right ankle, but the flexier shoes allow a better feel for the throttle.
Important I think on a strong running, lightweight little car.
As far as the trans tunnel height goes, you gotta do what you gotta do.
I made mine a little higher and wider than absolutely necessary so there would be good air flow around the trans.
It's paid off as well in being able to feed hoses, wiring, shift cables etc. around and over it.
The trans is a T-400 and the bottom of the trans pan - a deeper'n stock Derale vented pan - is 5 1/2" off the ground.
The car proper isn't that low, but everythings a compromise.
The trans pan and fractionally lower collectors have never dragged.
Fwiw, the trans pan gasket rail is even with the bottom of the 32 frame.

My gas pedal is on top of the bellhousing hump.
Since I run a manual I have hanging pedals in my small
footwell and the gas pedal is up higher. I can
still heel-toe to double clutch while braking, but barley.
I added a little notch so my heel is not resting on the rounded hump.

It is an automatic, and it is only channeled like 3.5 inches.
But i dont want the oil pan to hit the ground.
It is Z'd in the rear like 13 inches and has a 7 inch drop axle with reversed sping and flattened front cross member.
IT IS LOW.and hemi's are kinda tall.I'm already gonna be looking around the scoops.

It is surprising how little space you need for three pedals.
I thought this was going to be a real problem with the Roadster, so I even offset the Engine and Gear box 1/2" to the right to try and make it a little better. ( It also makes the blower stick out less on the driver side...)
When I started driving it, I found out that I have plenty of space, and dont step on 2 pedals at the same time, even when I drive the car wearing my size 11 work boots.
