With # C5d The C is Decade of 60s The 5 is the year of the decade thus 1965. The only block that had that bolt patten would have been a 289. Cal

The C5 beginning of that part number indicates a part originally designed in 1965. Sounds like you have a common small block Ford to Top-Loader bellhousing for the Windsor/Cleveland families. It will fit any of the post-65 289,302,255 and 351 Windsor engines, as well as the 351 Cleveland and Boss 302 mills.
Early 221 and 260 engines used a 5-bolt bellhousing, and the 351/400-M engines use a 429/460 bellhousing.
I'm not sure of the exact original application of your bellhousing, but anyone with a Ford parts guide handy could tell you what it came in. But, you can use it for any of the engines I mentioned above in most any small block/Top-Loader swap.

The interchange manual that I have shows that it came from a Mustang or Cougar Late '65 to '67 289 w/ toploader. But looking at the part number it was origionally designed for a '65 Falcon.
