One of the reasons we just can't make any progress! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Harbor Freight tools....I ain't happy......$695.00 plus tax and less than 2 weeks. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Yeah, called them about the problem and they said the warrenty was good for 30 days......

We got it on the 11th on january..so,it's going back...for a refund!!.........Was gonna take it today but,the town where we got it is about 30 miles down the road and it's 29 degrees and freezing rain,.......this is the sunny south!

We ain't drivin' in that stuff.....Heck we were outside sand blastin' less than 24 hours ago in the sun and 68 degrees.........UGH!

Hotrodprimer, if they will only give you a replacement and not your $ back, you might want to beef up that area. It is obviously cast, so I would suggest forming apiece of 1/4 flat stock around that area and up and drill and tap the cast piece back away from the pivot point to attach the flat stock. If you really wanted you could put sides on the flat stock for lateral support, but this may be overkill. But I like overkill, better over-engineered than under-engineered. I hope that all made sense!

Mine broke in the same spot, I made a new piece out of steel that repaired it. I wont waste time explaining how since your under warranty.

Hotrodprimer, if all they will do is replace it see if they'll let you buy the extended warranty. Everything I buy from Harbor Freight I get the extended warranty with it. Because I know it's gonna break.

My motto for nearly anything especially design is

"in lack of engineering, buy more materials, and build the shit out of it"
