Hey there. Being way up here in Canada there is a real lack of good parts around my area (north western ontario) eather the cars are rusted out beond being worth anything or fixed up. BUT there is a riveara in town with a 425 auto and factory duel fours! the car itself looks decent and all the parts are there, but from beneith is totaly rusted out. I want to get that motor and put er in my model A... How much would you pay?? $500.00, $1000,00 All i need is kind of a guide line. Id have it rebuilt so miles dont matter to me.

The factory intake, carbs.,linkage and air cleaner should be worth about $800 to $1,000 alone.....but those are California prices...either way it's a valuable set up...I'd offer the guy $500 and walk away very happy if he said yes..
Get it for $500, then join the Yahoo Nailhead list to get all the info you need to rebuild it.

i just sold some last year. the carbs and intake (with linkage) went for $750 and the finned factory valve covers went for $350. if it has the 2x4 air cleaner it's worth way more (air cleaner alone is worth about $300). i also got $400 for the motor (and it was frozen).

There was a guy on Ebay (I KNOW) That had a reserve of $900 just for the intake and carbs. They were rebuilt and ready to bolt on but thats a lot of $$$$$$$$ in my book. I guess with todays market you just pay the price or do without.

Don't forget, you might get some nice brake drums too.

Just curious, is the Yahoo Nailhead list/forum that zman mentions available to anyone who signs up for free, or is there some kind of charge associated with registering?
No charge at all. And a wealth of information. There are a few really knowledgeable nailhead guys on there. They're more than willing to help out if need be.
