punches for stainless trim

I use all sorts of punches for straightening stainless trim, but one of the most useful is a push rod from a Cummins N14.
Two nice different diameters, one big one small.
Old Valves are good too,
Squared off they are great for getting into corners, and you can grind them oval for differing radiuses.

damn... old valves. why didnt I ever think of that?

question: I hear you can get some small dents out of trim by melting down some lead in a good part of it and then tapping it down to and past the dented portion(s) Is this true? Anyone tried it? Thanks

Solder, lead is a bit soft.
As long as you don't flux it, melt the solder and let it run into the vally.
Tap it loose and file a flat on the top.
Gives you a purpose made die for inner diameters.
Works better on 1/2 rounds, vees. and larger diameters.
