this is a pic of the seat in my 48 f1. its actually out of the rear of a saab sedan and as such it is leather. the seat is made for the yuppie skier type and folds up and down to allow the placement of skis and such in the rear of the car

the worst part about this seat was getting it out of the saab, it was held in its former home by 8 "star" drive bolts.. and as such was a pain in the arse to remove..
anyhow if you do some thing like this you will need to create a frame like mine. seen here in photo below

When I chopped my F-1, I sectioned the base a few inches. But I think you could lower a stocker quite a bit, with new brackets..........OLDBEET

What about Triumph Spitfire or MGB? Or old school bus seats? They're almost flat.

In my 48 M-47,canadian 48 F-1 I used a eraly 90s ford ranger extra cab front seat. Its a 64/40 split with lotsa lumbar support.I actually had to raise it up bout 1.5" and I'm over 6'1".It fit perfect for width too.Easy to get out of the ranger and the install was a sinch too.I might have pics I can scan in a few days......Shiny

The Jumper seats from minivans work pretty good too. You know, the seats that are removable. That's what I have in my roadster.
I still want the convert, I've just been super busy. I 'll email you about it..............

I've owned a few F-1's in about a 20 year span......and went thru plenty of seats......If you have access to a boneyard,
Look for : 78-82 Olds Cutlass, Buick Regal, Pontiac Gran Prix
S-10 Seats, Ranger Seats
Early Falcon bench seat ( for a more "traditional" look) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
