Hello from Martindale (SanMarcos) Texas. My Name is Walter and I am a A&P (aircraft mechanic) with a small shop at the SanMarcos airport. My current project is a 65 GTO but I like all things automotive and anything that requires cutting chopping and welding.

Thanks

Walter

That for all cool reply’s. Ok by popular request but it’s not much to look at right now. I know it’s not quite as old school or kustom as most of y’all on the hamb would build but hopefully you’ll like it. The first pictures are when I first got it. It was an unfinished project. The guy had already put new floor pans, trunk pan and quarters on it so most of the hard work was done, or so I thought. There are about half a dozen small patched of rust that his body guy tried to fill with a MIG or met-al that I have to cut out and patch. I’ve got all the suspension on it, 9” rear end and drop spindles on front with power disc, should sit nice and low. I’m building it up as a street/strip car, hoping to get into the 10’s on pump gas. Right now I’m working on the headers. I bought a set of Headmans that did not fit worth a f**k and had these screwy collectors where all four tube are in line side by side. So I built a set of square collectors and cut the headers up and fitting to the new collectors. I have a big paint job going on right now and have not been able to work on it for a couple of weeks and it’s driving me FREAKING NUTS but I should be getting caught up with work here pretty soon and get back on it.

Thanks

Walter

BTW Hey SKYRODDER I used to live in the Hieghts on Byrne St.

Welcome to the HAMB, from somewhere north of Austin. We show up at times at the San Marcos airport and hang out with the CAF crowd. I fly the silver Stearman, in case you see it around there. Presently working on a whacked 32 3w with flathead motivation and driving a 5w with big block Ford in it. I have always liked the muscle car Tin Injuns like you are building.

Hey Skotz,
I know those guys and work on few airplanes down there. My hangar is at the far west end of the airport, the small silver hanger at the end of the taxi. Feel free to drop on by next time you are in town.

Welcome from a nearby FNG. I went to chool in San Marcos. I have even flown into your airport a couple of times as a passenger. One of my most pleasant memories is of riding with some guys doing touch-n-go landings in a DC-3 there.
