My wife has to go to Columbia MO on Mon Feb 2nd and 3rd for her job and I'm going to tag along. Do any of you locals know of anything in the area to do? Any good junk yards to browse within driving distance, museums, cool speed shops or anything? I'd appreciate any info. I'll have all day Monday and half a day Tues to kill. Thanks Brad http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Can go hit Jefferson City if you're up for some Missouri history. See the courthouse, and the big nekkid wimmin in front of it.

I work in Columbia, but live about twenty miles east in Fulton. Columbia is supposed to be one of the most desirable places in the US for people to live. I really don't see why, myself. Its a nice enough place to live, but there are no Museums, no big Tourist attractions, no Racetracks, etc. Lots and lots of Stores though, plenty of places to spend Money, but none particularly interesting or Historical.

Fulton is about 20 miles East on I70 and has the restored "Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury" that was Bombed out during WWII in England, then moved over here and re-assembled at Westminster College in memorium of Winston Churchill. He made his "Iron Curtain" Speech at Westminster College. The Abbey is open for tours, and has a small Museum in the Basement. There is also a piece of the Berlin Wall that has been Sculpted by Winston Churchills Neice. It is standing in the Courtyard outside the Abbey alongside one of the most famous Bronze Statues of Churchill.

Jefferson City might be worth your time, there are several attractions of Historic interest. The Capitol Building has a pretty nice Museum on the main floor.

I would offer to haul you around, but I'm stuck at home in a Neck-Brace recovering from Surgery.

Dont forget the old car museum in Fulton, dont know if it`s open this time of year or not!
Couple junkyards around, nothing real old though.
Hell, just cruise around campus and check out the women...we have plenty of those!!
If you see a 24' Lowe`s box truck, pull me over and I`ll take you to lunch at a damn good BBQ place.
