Hey Fast Elvis: There will be a Detroit Jam next January. It will be their 10th. anniversery. I hope it will be a blowout. There will also be a International Letterheads meet in Detroit later this summer. This is a big deal. It will encompass hand lettering and striping. I'm saving up for it!
Jdubbya: I had to give up "Flying" in the very early 80's. Part of my parole conditions. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Denise: I know what ya mean about Unk Ian. He looks different than what I imagined. Kool guy though.
It is great to put faces with all these kool names we all have. I gotta get to Tejas for 'dem Hamb'r hot rod events.

Was there a Striper working that show last year ?
Safariknut maybe ?
Alot of Stripers depend on these shows for their livelyhood, don't want to create any conflicts.
When and Where is the show ??

I'm up for it.Seeing as it is going to occur on D-Day(the 6th of June)we could call it the."Invasion of Detroit"or some other such thing.
I haven't even scheduled any shows this year so far except maybe the Ypsi Area Street Rods kick off in May.Keep me up on what's happening.

Even though I am not a striper, or artistic by any means, I hope that you guys do have a "jam". Some of the stuff Ray had the night before in his "briefcase" was awesome stuff. Hey Guys & Gurls,
I like the way this post is going. If we can get some inside space, Let's all get together and have a ball. I'd love to come there and be part of this. I'm only interested in makin' panels, meeting new people, and drinking a beer with like minded people. I'm not looking to make any dough, But I will donate a stripin' job on anybodies short. Especially, if it's in primer. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I'll see ya all at the " Longest Day Stripe Off ". http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

p.s. My Pop was D-Day + 3. with only a 20 mile beachhead. Said he didn't expend any bodily functions for 3 days after that. I can only imagine!

I'll second Mr. Pan's motion on this "good time for all gearheads". It be a hoot watching Mr. Pan cookin with some 1 shot on a brush and a blank hood, trunk or whatever in front of him or for that matter any of the other talented HANB Panel Team members at this gig in June. We just might have to get together before hand to have a planning PARTY... Oh I mean planning MEETING...what was I thinking of. But PARTY does sound better Cheers F.E.

Com'on down 100mphwheelspinner! Bring the hot rod, your brushes and enjoy the company of some great folks. At the moment wheelspinner I believe this whole panel jam is in the planning stages. Kirk of Billetproof was good enough to e-mail me that Davisburg MI. is the location there shooting for and the rest of us have been talking about doing a panel jam at the show.
What is a Panel Jam? I would say it's a gathering of like minded people that enjoy expressing there artistic talents through the medium of 1 shot, a mack knife(brush) and any surface they choose. If I screwed up on that definition I know someone will correct me, because I must confess I have not been to a Panel Jam either but I'll be at my first one this June having hoot!.....we hope.

By the way, Thursday night at the Chi-Town World of Wheels set up, I spied one of your Pinstriped barrels as part of a Rat Fink display. Very, very Sharp!

You don't remember what was on it do you Joel?It might have been one that I collaborated on with Shane or maybe the purple barrel that got started at Joe Sulpy's in Jersey and went around the country.I'd be curious.

Ray,
It was a maroon barrel, I think. It had one your sun swirls on the lid in red. It had all sorts of designs in various colors. It had a large spider of yours in green or blue, which is what I noticed first. There was another barrel there with a little of your stuff and more of others.
It was part of a large Rat Fink statue. There were a couple of photo albums with all sorts of under construction hotrods. I think they were from Pennsylvania, a Custom shop there.
I didn't really understand the display. Whoever had it was gone when I noticed it. I am going again Sunday and will get more info.
I took pics of your barrel and will post Monday or Tuesday evening. I'll PM ya. I remember you talking about a couple barrels you did at the Detroit Jam.
Very Sharp, Ray!

It wasn't the motorized Rat Fink was it?There was a guy at Dayton last year that had a huge fibreglass Rat Fink that Ed had built that was powered by a 12V Cadillac starter motor.I forget his name(I'm lucky I can remember my own)but I think he had a shop.LMK

Ray, I think that was what that Rat Fink was. It's tall and has da Fink sitting a small hotrod. Yep, all fiberglass. It's a tribute display to Big Daddy.
Anyway, He has your barrel with alot of good stuff on it.

Joel, while this post has your attention, Race, Roadstar's son is in Chicago right now at the WOW. He works for ISCA and does the Absorber display and another one, can't remember exactly. If you walk by there tomorrow, stop in and ask for him, name's easy to remember, introduce yourself, tell him I said "hi".
