If you spend a lot of time on the net or on one certain site with a lot of content the "browser cache" can fill up and do exactly that. No guarantees that's the problem but you can try clearing your cookies.
To do it manually with XP go to:
START;
All Programs;
Accessories;
System Tools;
then
Disc Cleanup

I use this cool little program (http://hotroddersauctions.com/dwnlds/CCleaner.exe) that scans for errors and stuff to.
You will want to go in and select the windows tab {i am taking it that you have windows and IE}.
Under the Internet Explorer ckeck the "cookies" box than go down to "System" and check the "Temporary Files" box. Analyze and clean. Than scan for issues.
It's only 500 or so MB so most digital camera pictures are bigger than it is and it's really fast.
Good luck.
