Is there a product to clean a nd brighten cast aluminum such as manifolds, wheels etc.
I don't care if it will dull down again I just want to get the color even. I was thinking some sort of acid but I don't know.

unless you have a smooth cast manifold which I doubt forget polishing that by hand, as for mothers, you'd be better to leave it alone than use that crap.
check out thwe photogallery at www.englishcustompolishing.com/usca/gallery2.html (http://www.englishcustompolishing.com/usca/gallery2.html) you know what to do if you like what you see.

Ask Polisher for his helpful guide in Word format.
I can tell you first hand that his stuff works great.

There is an acid that will even and brighten the color of aluminum. When I used to work for a tank trailer rebuild shop, we would use this stuff to wash down and brighten aluminum dry bulk carriers. It was slicker than shit. I can't remember what it was, It's been 15 yrs.ago, but I was hoping someone here would know what the damn stuff is called. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
