Oil dipstick tech?

I stole this one from how it works, Some time the simple things make you go DA!
Sometimes it is difficult to see the oil level on a dipstick especially after an oil change. Drill a small hole through the dipstick at the "add" mark and the "full" mark. Check the oil, hold up the dipstick and you can see the film of oil covering the hole. No more guessing.

To tag onto that, I have run into situations where the dipstick that is in an engine is not the original and doesn't read correctly. Drain the system good, refill to factory specs, then mark the dipstick with a file and drill the holes as stated above. Really hard to see on chrome dipsticks if its fresh oil. Great idea.
