I posted some other pics from Pomona today but I didn't want to pollute that post with these pics. Looks like P-Ditty and some of his homies are trying their hand at something other than Escalades...

I don't know if you noticed the speakers mounted pointing out on the rear of the body just above the bed, but if this car isn't bad enough on the eyes, you shoulda heard the foul gansta rap sounds he was pumpin' outta it! Needless to say they didn't hang around too long...

Not that I like it, but it doesn't look any more ridiculous that some of the ones built in the '70s...one that was on the cover of R and C with rear tires about 3 ft wide comes to mind...

How heavy are those wheels? I think I'd at least be worried about the rear brakes not being effective...

It is funny to think that there are people out there that are so pumped when building something like that. But that is probably exactly what they ssay about the jalopy's we drive. So oh well. I think it is hidious but What do I know.

I saw when they were loading it on the trailer to leave and ther was a big crowd around it. Somebody digs it.

That's not a bad looking car. Lose the horn, and speakers. The wheels don't look to bad. Picture them painted with whitewalls. Dean

What Kustm52 said..
And,
The only part I don't like is the octagon hub cap.
It's too Gothic looking for the reast of the car.
And maybe it's because of living here in El Longo, the Rap Kapital of the world I've grown accustomed to dubs... Don't like em when the car rides like a 4 by but the first car I ever saw with Dayton straight laces was a Sting Ray back in the 60's.

Isn't this a prophetic sign from the Bible or something? I thought I heard once that when Dubs appear on hotrods the end is near. Kinda like when the sea turns to blood. I'm thinking this is a bad bad sign here. It is of the Devil.

The "goldchainers" are turning into "silverchainers". http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif That first set up and the T with the buckets are beyond belief. I thought I had seen buckets in just about every known, wrong application...I stand corrected.

I kinda like them. Paint the spokes, and put the body on angled, ass up and it'd start looking cartoony. Fad t's like that should be funny lookin' and cartoony. Different paint, different headers, just exagerate everything . Make it look straight out of a cartoons mag.

nothin too strange there other than the wheels.. if it was a little toy i might want one for the collection but as a real car it's not too much to my taste. i do like the front wheels and tires though. it's not as bad as i expected when opening this post anyway.

Even though I listen to Hip Hop and Rap music... I don't subscribe to the lowrider culture... never did like low-riders... and I never will... BUT, taking that "T" into perspective with the rest of the air-bag/hydraulic Dayton wire wearing "yumpers" I think it's pretty fucking cool! To see Snoop Dawg roll one of them beeyotches in a video rather than a six-fo' would be bitchen'!

I've always seen old cars as an art form. Let's face it, there is no real function in them... You aren't going to go fast in a traditional hot rod, you aren't going to get Tahoe drivability in an old skool custom, etc... We aren't creating functionality, we are creating art.

My first appreciation for this art form was lowriders and although I don't own one anymore, I prolly will again someday. I just love the look of a super clean, super simple, traditional lowrider... Late 60's vato style is my personal preference...

The grill, horn, and headlight are the only things I don't really like.

There are a couple of gold-chainer white guys running around with 22" rear wheels on their cars.

That could be a gang sign. There is alot of sign language in gang life. I know a couple and I wouldn't show them in public. (could get shot for it if seen by a rival gang). I really don't care for the wheels but if you put on a set of Mickeys on the back it's a different car that probably doesn't even get your attention.

Ryan, that '62 is bitchen!

Like I said before, it ain't my cup of tea... but I can dig the stance that thing has and aesthetically speaking, its a bitchen car with a bitchen' look...

One thing I really do appreciate is the time and effort low riders put into their cars... like the '62 and the Model T pictured... they have a look that didn't happen by chance (like a lot of Rat Rods do)... someone sat there and labored over the way things were going to go together...
