a few things about some of the cars. the '36 with the caddy was $14,500, i talked to the guy and it turns out that was the body i was looking at about 1 1/2 years ago. i was a body, decklid, hood (no fenders, no running gear or boards), that looked like it was sitting in water up to the doors. it also has a '40 frame that the #'s were still being used from the car it came from. he was asking $3500 for just the body before. also as i was talking to him i noticed the t-bird, it turns out that is his brother. he found the car in a garage in hollywood, it was built in the 60's and he found it that way (untouched since then, paint and all). the '36 still needed some body/interior work but it had a rebuilt cad motor and a buick manual trans.
i need to bring my camera next time.......... big 3 soon http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice Shots! Always like the deuces but that 58 chevy would be one cool ride! Thanks! Right Denise, with about 8 or 9 inches of snow on the ground it is great to see some hot rods! Why do we live up here?

Oh oh, am I going to have to gouge my eyes out? I last saw that evil looking T'bird on a cover of an East Coast mag back in the late fifties or very early sixties. It was way wrong back then and the passage of time has done nothing to help things. The front end is not so bad but, when you get to that rear end, yikes my eyes hurt! I could have sworn that the T'bird was built on the east coast but, if not, well, bad taste can be found anywhere. Thanks for all the pics, I enjoyed them all-even the 'bird because it took me back to the "old days" and the way things were. Thankfully, they are not like that anymore.

I believe that it is a Pirelli but you're right, the tread pattern does resemble an older Michelin.

Hey, that T-Bird belonged to a very good friend of mine, Kenny Erickson before the owner that was selling it out at Pomona. I also saw it for sale at Vets Stadium swap the week before. You may not like the car, but keep your mouth shut. The Bird is different, and you see way too many stocker Birds running around. The front is neat, and the back is kool as well. My goiod friend Eric Erickson painted and striped the car in his backyard. He is only 22. Oh yeah, what do you drive? I don't mean to be rude with my reply, but I don't think that there is any need for any negative statements asbout someone's car. My friend and his dad bought the car up around Hollywood about 2 years or so ago, and freshened up the paint and tires, lowered it, got it running and drove it. The guy selling it now rebuilt the motor. My friends were not too clear on the history of the car, and never really found out the true story behind the customization. If anybody knows anything about this T-Bird's history, please email me at chopt50@msn.com. I agree with you on th efact that it was probably built in the late 50s or early 60s... someone please let me know!!!!
