Hi all. My name is John and hail from a small town in Delaware. I've been an avid chopper/harley builder most of my adult life but have loved cars since day 1. I was fortunate enough to be given my current project by my father, (he lost interest). It's a very nice 30 chevy 5 window coupe. Body straight, no rust, motor actually runs. As nice as it is, it's not made for a guy who rides crazy custom bikes. That being said, i've enlisted my old buddy Joe from Delaware Chassiworks to help me create the evil ratrod of my dreams. I've started the parts gathering and am doing pretty good so far. 49 merc flathead (is putting a merc motor in a chevy considered blasfamous?), 39 ford 3 speed tranny, split wishbones front and back. I could probably go on but don't want you to think the new guy is long winded. Anyhow, I was fortunate enough to meet E.J. Kawalski yesterday and am lucky enough to have him do the chop and channeling on the car.

Just a note, my buddies introduced me to this website yesterday and I have spent most of the day going thru the posts. This forum cannot be good for those of us stuck behind a desk during the day. Productivity 0, excitement level 10!

Since the car is in the 'brainstorming' part, i'd love to hear some ideas, suggestions for making this cool! I am going to keep the rumble seat functional for my daughters to ride in from time to time.

Thanks for welcoming me on board!
John

Sweet. Your story is like mine... only different. I'm getting a 31 Chevy (5 window) from my Dad. Its a project, but all there. I'm looking foward to putting it together.

Enjoy the 65 pages of love known as the HAMB and welcome aboard.
