Deuce Rails

I just got back from a full weekend of metal shaping taught by Ron Covell and hosted by Wyotech's Blairsville, PA campus. And it was great.
Saturday was spent on steel and Sunday was spent on aluminum.
Topics and projects covered in the weekend were:
Making a 39 Ford grill tooth on a hammerform
Making the side of a custom harley gas tank
Making a custom fuel cell
Hard riveting aluminum
Gas welding aluminum
English wheeling
Annealing aluminum
Curving and hemming edges
Fitting a piece to a buck
And that's just what I remember right now without my notes. Oh, and that's just the introduction weekend.
Plus, Ron is a hell of a nice guy. He's very patient with dumb questions, and very methodical and honest when he answers those dumb questions. (I asked a lot of them this weekend.) And he welds as nicely as he forms metal.
I also can't say enough about the guys at Wyotech. They were great.
I highly recommend Ron's videos, particularly the one called Shaping Aluminum with Hand Tools, and another on motorcycle gas tanks. Even better is seeing him in person, because then you can actually ask questions on things you don't fully understand.
If you want a video or want to check the schechdule of classes, it's at www.covell.biz (http://www.covell.biz) .
Sounds like I'm a paid spokesman, right? Nope. I just really had a great time.
